Cascais, Capital of Portuguese Surfing and it’s all down to King D. Luís and his love of swimming in the sea
Book 06 from the kids collection series
Come Surf with Pipa, Jaime and Kika
They went for a family outing to Cascais. Between the train journey there, and their return by foot along the boardwalk, they talked about the history of Cascais and the beauty that surrounds this delightful resort town. However, their urge to go surfing was overwhelming, so after a healthy lunch, they walked to their local beach, Carcavelos, where they all caught some excellent waves – including their dog, Sister. On one of the competition days, when the world surfing championship ended early, they took the opportunity to visit to the Santa Marta lighthouse and were even lucky enough to eat the best natural fruit ice-creams!
